Sausage and Cheddar Biscuits

Makes 8 Servings



  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  2. Cut sausage into ½ inch cubes
  3. Cook over medium heat until browned
  4. In a mixing bowl fold flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda into the vegetable shortening
  5. Add buttermilk, bringing the clumpy mixture to a doughy consistency
  6. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface, creating 10 dough balls
  7. Flatten the dough balls and fold in the sausage and cheddar
  8. Bake on a greased baking sheet for 12 minutes or until golden brown
  9. Serve alone or as a breakfast side
