Slow Cooked Portuguese Chorizo and Peppers            
                Makes 8 Servings            
         
        
            
               
                
                
                
                    
                        
- 2 lbs El Cerdito Chorizos Sausage®
 
- 2 Green Bell Peppers, seeded and chopped
 
- 2 Onions, chopped
 
- 1 (6 oz) can Tomato Paste
 
- 1 cup Red Wine
 
- 1 cup Water
 
- 2 tbsp crushed Garlic
 
                   
                 
             
            
            
                 
                
                    
                        
- 1. Remove casings and crumble the sausage, placing into a slow cooker
 
- 2. Stir in green peppers, onions, tomato paste, wine, water and crushed garlic
 
- 3. Cover, cooking on low heat for 8 hours
 
- 4. Remove cover and cook an additional 2 hours, allowing the liquid to evaporate
 
- 5. Serve over rice or on a hard roll
